TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), or Antam, reported a surge in net income for the first quarter of 2025. The company's net profit jumped more than tenfold to Rp2.32 trillion, a substantial rise compared to the Rp210.59 billion recorded during the same period last year.

Antam President Director Nico Kanter attributed this achievement to the implementation of innovative marketing strategies and stringent cost control measures. He stated that Antam continues to develop innovative and competitive marketing approaches.

"We continue to prioritize operational excellence and the application of good mining practices to optimize the company's performance," Nico said in an official statement released on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Antam recorded total net sales of Rp26.15 trillion in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 203 percent increase from Rp8.62 trillion in the corresponding period last year. Notably, domestic sales accounted for 95 percent of the total revenue, amounting to Rp24.83 trillion. "This reflects Antam's success in strengthening its domestic customer base," Nico explained.

He highlighted that gold has become the primary driver of revenue, with sales reaching Rp21.61 trillion, an 182 percent increase that contributed 83 percent of the total sales. The volume of gold sales also saw a significant increase of 93 percent to 13,739 kilograms, "driven by the launch of the Antam Logam Mulia application, which facilitates digital physical gold transactions," he noted.

In addition to the surge in net income, Antam also recorded a more than thirteenfold increase in gross profit, reaching Rp3.64 trillion. The company also achieved a turnaround in operating income to Rp2.69 trillion, from a previous operating loss of Rp491.19 billion. Basic net income per share also jumped by 794 percent to Rp88.69, accompanied by a 17 percent increase in total assets to Rp48.30 trillion and a 10 percent increase in equity to Rp34.62 trillion.

MIND ID President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin commented that Antam's first-quarter performance indeed demonstrated significant positive results. He expressed optimism that maintaining this performance would yield continued positive outcomes.

"We are also optimistic that by continuing to take improvements across all business lines, including in corporate governance, it will positively impact the performance of all MIND ID members," he stated.
