1. Indonesia Cracks Down on Thousands of Tax Evaders, Says Finance Ministry

The Ministry of Finance reaffirmed that it will not only pursue and collect taxes from 200 major taxpayers but also thousands of tax evaders across Indonesia.

"There are thousands of tax evaders, not only 200. But some is done at the Tax Office (KPP) because they are the collectors. Meanwhile, the 200 (major taxpayers) are of concern due to the large numbers and the fact that their cases involve many parties," said Yon Arsal, minister's expert staff for tax compliance at the Ministry of Finance, at the 2025 Ministry of Finance media gathering in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Arsal explained that the 200 tax evaders mentioned earlier by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa involve high-value and complex cases that require collaboration and a longer time for resolution.

Under tax regulations outlined in Law No. 7 of 2021 on Tax Regulation Harmonization and its implementing provisions, tax receivables are recorded only after the Tax Assessment Letter (SKP) has been approved by the taxpayer or has obtained permanent legal force once all legal processes have been completed.

2. What Coach Patrick Kluivert Said After Indonesia Failed to Reach the 2026 World Cup

Kluivert expressed his disappointment after Indonesia lost to Iraq.

"First and foremost, I am very disappointed. Looking at the course of the match, we performed much better, but once again the result was not in our favor," said the Dutch coach in a press conference, as quoted from the audio recording received by the reporter.

He continued to defend his players by stating that Jay Idzes and his teammates had worked very hard to reach this stage.

"I am very proud of the players who have shown their heart and courage on the field. We created opportunities and played very well, but one moment can change everything. We lost because of one action and it is very painful," he said.

The former Barcelona striker and Dutch national team player mentioned that the entire team felt devastated by the result. According to him, the hard struggle that has been made since the first round of qualifiers makes this failure even more difficult.

Meanwhile, from the euro-denominated bonds, the government raised EUR600 million, or Rp11.5 trillion.

"This transaction marks the government's successful issuance of SEC-registered global bonds for the seventeenth time," read an announcement on the official website of the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management at the Ministry of Finance, quoted on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
