TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A well-known leaker has denied reports suggesting that Apple has delayed the release of the iPhone Air 2, saying the device remains on track for launch in 2026. Fixed Focus Digital, cited by 9to5Mac, said Apple is still planning to announce the next-generation iPhone Air.

In a post on Weibo, Fixed Focus Digital said Apple intends to unveil the iPhone Air 2 at its annual fall event, which is typically held in early September. The claim contradicts a report by The Information, which previously said Apple had removed the device from its development schedule.

According to that earlier report, Apple had “told engineers and suppliers that it had pulled the next iPhone Air from the schedule without providing a new release date.”

A follow-up report later added that some Apple engineers were hoping to launch a redesigned version with a second camera in spring 2027, alongside the planned release of the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e.

Beyond the iPhone Air 2, Fixed Focus Digital also confirmed earlier reports regarding the iPhone 17e, which is expected to debut at Apple’s spring event, usually held in March.

The iPhone Air 2 is rumored to address two major criticisms of the first-generation model. According to The Information, Apple has revisited the design and is considering adding a second rear camera while also lowering the device’s price to make it more competitive.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 17e is expected to receive only incremental upgrades over the iPhone 16e. The device is reportedly set to feature Apple’s C1X modem and a glass back that supports magnetic wireless charging, a feature that many iPhone 16e users had anticipated.
