TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has arrived in Jordan as part of a state visit to several Middle Eastern countries on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The Head of State was directly welcomed by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan in a welcoming ceremony.
Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, stated that President Prabowo arrived around 17:57 local time at the Military Airport in Amman, Jordan, after a flight from Doha, Qatar.
Prior to landing, the aircraft carrying President Prabowo received strict escort from two Jordanian Air Force fighter jets until it landed safely. Under the airplane staircase, King Abdullah II was waiting to give a direct welcome, followed by an official welcoming ceremony at the airfield.
"The official welcoming ceremony began with the introduction of the two official delegations to both country's leaders. Then, the national anthems of each country were played, followed by an inspection of the honor guard," said Yusuf.
After the honor guard inspection, the welcome continued with a mini parade and the honor of the troops in front of President Prabowo and King Abdullah II. As the ceremony concluded, two fighter jets flew over the ceremony location.
