TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vivo's gas stations in Indonesia are facing a fuel shortage, following Shell and BP, which have been dealing with this issue since mid-August 2025.

"We apologize to our loyal customers. Currently, gasoline types (Revvo90, Revvo92, and Revvo95) are not available at all Vivo gas station locations," wrote the Vivo management through their official Instagram account with the username spbuvivo, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

However, the supply of diesel fuel, such as Diesel Primus Plus, is still available at all Vivo gas stations. "We continue to strive to provide quality fuel products in order to serve you again as soon as possible," the Vivo management quoted by Antara wrote.

Previously, Vivo Director Leonard Mamahit stated that the fuel stock at Vivo gas stations would only last until mid-October 2025. To maintain stock availability, Vivo has been in communication with Pertamina Patra Niaga.

On Friday, September 26, 2025, Pertamina Patra Niaga reached an agreement for the purchase and sale of pure fuel (base fuel) with PT Vivo Energy Indonesia (Vivo). The agreement stated Vivo's approval regarding the purchase of 40,000 barrels of base fuel out of the 100,000 barrels imported by Pertamina Patra Niaga.

However, during the Hearing with the House of Representatives' Commission XII in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, it was stated that Vivo canceled the agreement due to the finding of around 3.5 percent ethanol in the base fuel lab test.

Then, on Monday, October 6, 2025, Pertamina Patra Niaga stated that PT Vivo Energy Indonesia (Vivo) and PT Aneka Petroindo Raya (APR)-AKR Corporindo Tbk (manager of BP gas stations) agreed to follow up on technical discussions regarding the import of oil fuel.

"Several private companies are currently in the negotiation stage with the terms and conditions provided. We are trying to help from the supply side," said Pertamina Patra Niaga's Pj Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun, quoted by Antara.
