STUDIO Science Saru has announced the release date of the anime Dandadan season 2. Through a post on X @animetv_jp, Dandadan season 2 will be released regularly on Netflix on July 3, 2025. As quoted from Collider, the first season of Dandadan premiered on October 4, 2024, and the final episode aired on December 19, 2024.
The first season of Dandadan ended with the story of Momo, Okarun, and Jiji setting out to investigate the mystery in their hometown. On their journey, Momo is attacked by suspicious individuals, while Okarun and Jiji encounter something dark and tense.
3 Episode in Theatres
The first three episodes of the second season will be released in the form of a film and screened in theaters worldwide. As quoted from Game Rant, the film titled Dandadan: Evil Eye will start showing in theaters on May 30, 2025, in the Asia region, followed by North America on June 6, 2025, and then Europe on June 7, 2025. Along with the announcement, the X account for Dandadan also shared a new key visual for the second season featuring Momo Ayase, Turbo Granny, and Okarun.
Characters
Mutsumi Tamura will join the main cast in the second season as the voice of Evil Eye. Dandadan 2 is directed by Abel Gongora and Fuga Yamashiro. There are no changes in the characters, so all the original voice actors will reprise their roles as in the previous season.

Story
The new season will not only reveal some mysteries but also feature a lot of action compared to the previous season. As revealed at the end of the first season, the new episodes will commence with the appearance of The Avatar of Hatred, an evil entity that is now wreaking havoc after finding a body to possess.
Its presence also marks the emergence of the dangerous evil eye aspect of it, capable of evoking terrifying emotions in anyone who gazes into it. This new season will mix horror and supernatural elements.
The Journey of Dandadan Anime
The story of Dandadan was written by Yukinobu Tatsu and serialized in the Shonen Jump+ app in April 2021. The manga's popularity has shown a positive trend since its anime adaptation aired. The anime adaptation of Dandadan itself was announced in 2023. The premiere was scheduled for October 2024 with a total of 12 episodes. One of Dandadan's attractions is the combination of supernatural elements and romance.
