TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - After more than three years since the release of Born Pink in 2022, K-pop powerhouse BLACKPINK has officially announced their group comeback with a new EP titled Deadline, set for release on February 27, 2026.
YG Entertainment revealed the news through a teaser video on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
The agency shared that most of the album’s production, including the music video, has already been completed ahead of schedule, with final touches now underway.
“We sincerely thank fans who have waited patiently for this comeback,” YG Entertainment said, as quoted by Korea JoongAng Daily.
“We’re preparing music of the highest quality and look forward to your continued support.”
The mini album Deadline carries special significance, sharing its name with BLACKPINK’s Deadline World Tour, which ran from July 2025 to January 2026.
The tour began at Goyang Stadium in South Korea and will wrap up in Hong Kong on January 26, 2026, after more than 30 shows in 16 cities worldwide.
Deadline marks BLACKPINK’s first full-group mini album since Born Pink, signaling a new chapter following the members’ individual ventures into music, fashion, and acting.
During the group’s hiatus, Jennie, Jisoo, Rose, and Lisa each launched successful solo projects, but their chemistry as a unit remains undeniable.
Ahead of the world tour, BLACKPINK released the digital single Jump on July 11, 2025, which debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed on the chart for 10 weeks. The track reaffirmed the group’s collective strength despite their focus on solo activities.
The Deadline World Tour is set to conclude with final performances at Tokyo Dome in Japan from January 16-18, 2026, and Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong from January 24-26, 2026.
According to YG Entertainment, the upcoming EP will serve as both the climax of the tour and the start of a new era for BLACKPINK in 2026, offering fans a grand finale and a fresh beginning for the group’s musical journey.
