TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - K-pop group BTS has officially set a new record in ticket sales for their world tour titled Arirang, which sold out in North America and Europe. This marks their return to the global stage after all of the group's members have completed their mandatory military service.
As reported by The Korea Times, Big Hit Music agency confirmed that all tickets for 41 concert schedules in both regions were sold out shortly after the sales session opened. This enthusiasm even forced the agency to add concert schedules in several major cities such as Tampa, Stanford, and Las Vegas.
Tickets in America and Europe Sold Out in Minutes
Since ticket sales opened last week, millions of BTS fans, also known as ARMY, in the United States and Europe have flocked to the official sales site. As reported by Yonhap News Agency, in the United States, tickets for large stadiums such as MetLife Stadium (New York) and Rose Bowl (Los Angeles) reportedly sold out in less than 10 minutes.
A similar situation occurred in Europe. Concerts at Wembley Stadium (London) and Stade de France (Paris) immediately sold out as soon as the online queue reached over one million people per location. Technical issues on the ticket platform and a surge in prices on the secondary market (scalpers) were the main highlights, as many tickets were resold at several times the original price.
President of Mexico Writes to South Korean President
This enthusiasm reached its peak in Latin America. As reported by Allkpop, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reportedly sent a diplomatic letter to the President of South Korea. This step was taken after three BTS concert schedules at Estadio GNP Seguros, Mexico City (May 7, 9, and 10, 2026), sold out instantly, leaving hundreds of thousands of fans disappointed for not getting tickets.
"I’ve heard that many young people were unable to secure tickets. About 150,000 tickets were sold in Mexico, but more than one million people reportedly wanted seats," she said. President Sheinbaum officially requested that the management consider adding BTS concert dates in Mexico to accommodate the enthusiasm of its citizens.
Waiting for the 'Arirang' Album
This world tour is part of the promotion for BTS's latest album, Arirang, which is scheduled for release on March 20, 2026. This will be their first work with the full seven-member formation since all the members completed their military service.
HYBE and Big Hit Music are currently reviewing the possibility of adding encore schedules in several cities, although a very tight tour schedule is the main obstacle. BTS themselves are scheduled to hold a concert in Jakarta on December 26 and 27, 2026.
