TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein at the Al-Husseiniya Palace in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on Monday, April 14, 2025, during his state visit.
The Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media in the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, said that Prabowo is expected to arrive at the Al-Husseiniya Palace around 13:00 local time. The arrival of the Head of State will be directly welcomed by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
"His arrival will be directly welcomed by King Abdullah II. Then, the first activity is to have a tete-a-tete meeting with King Abdullah II," said Yusuf in an official statement on Monday, April 14, 2025.
After the one-on-one meeting, the two heads of state will continue their discussion on strategic cooperation in a bilateral meeting involving delegations from both countries. On this occasion, several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) will also be signed and witnessed directly by President Prabowo and King Abdullah II.
"After that, there will be several MoU signings that will be witnessed directly by the two heads of state," Yusuf added.
As the conclusion of the official visit at the Al-Husseiniya Palace, President Prabowo will attend an official luncheon hosted by King Abdullah.
Prabowo arrived in Jordan for the state visit to several countries in the Middle East on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The Head of State was directly welcomed by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein in a welcoming procession.
The visit to Jordan is one of Prabowo's objectives in visiting several countries in the Middle East. The visit aims to strengthen strategic cooperation and promote the resolution of the Gaza conflict through diplomatic and humanitarian channels.
Prior to visiting Jordan, Prabowo met with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Amiri Diwan Palace on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Prabowo stated that Qatar is committed to investing in the Nusantara Anagata Power (Danantara) with an amount of 2 billion US dollars. According to him, this is part of the increased cooperation between Indonesia and Qatar.
"He (Emir of Qatar) will invest in Danantara. A joint fund, he commits two billion US dollars," said Prabowo during the state visit in Doha, Qatar, monitored online from the YouTube channel of the Presidential Secretariat on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Prabowo's visit to Qatar was to meet and have a private conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Amiri Diwan Palace. He was also reported to have attended the CEO Forum initiated by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
