TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto attended the destruction of two tons of narcotics evidence from cases solved over the past year at Bhayangkara Field, National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Dressed in a light brown safari outfit, Prabowo arrived at around 1:20 p.m. local time and was welcomed by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Upon arrival, the President inspected 2.1 tons of narcotics evidence displayed at the venue. The amount represented a ceremonial portion of the total 214.84 tons of drugs seized.
“From October 2024 to October 2025, the police uncovered 49,306 narcotics cases involving 65,572 suspects,” Sigit said in his remarks.
He noted that the total confiscated drugs were valued at Rp29.366 trillion, weighing 214.8 tons in total. In addition, police facilitated 1,898 drug rehabilitation programs under the Restorative Justice scheme.
Sigit added that investigators also applied Anti-Money Laundering charges in several cases, with total seized assets amounting to Rp221.386 billion.
The event was also attended by several cabinet members, lawmakers, and top law enforcement officials, including National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo, House Speaker Puan Maharani, and National Narcotics Agency Head Suyudi Ario Seto.
