TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto urges Indonesian citizens to remain united and help each other in his Christmas and New Year greetings.
In an Instagram post, @prabowo, Indonesia's 8th President, wrote that Christmas is a moment of love, hope, and care for others. At the same time, Prabowo said the people of Indonesia are being tested by natural disasters, bringing sorrow and challenges to Sumatra residents.
"I'm calling on all Indonesian citizens to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation and solidarity, help each other, and rally our best abilities as a resilient nation through unity," wrote Prabowo in a photo posted on Christmas Eve, on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
The head of state prompted all citizens to make this moment a source of hope to rise together. He also hoped for a peaceful Christmas for everyone, and that next year brings health and strength to the Indonesian people.
"Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2026. May the Almighty God always protect and assist our struggle," said Prabowo.
On Christmas Eve, December 24, Coordinating Minister of Human Development and Culture Pratikno visited Jakarta Cathedral on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, 2025. During his visit, Pratikno conveyed greetings from President Prabowo Subianto to the worshipers.
Pratikno, along with several officials, reviewed Jakarta Cathedral before the Christmas Eve mass. "We are here to convey greetings from the President and on behalf of the government, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025," said Pratikno at Jakarta Cathedral, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.
During the visit, Pratikno said that Prabowo emphasized that people were still celebrating Christmas in areas affected by disasters, including Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Pratikno stated that the government will continue to strive for the quick recovery of disaster victims.
