TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2025 Summit. The APEC summit was held from October 31 to November 1, 2025, in Gyeongju, South Korea.
According to the Presidential Secretariat report, Prabowo arrived in South Korea on Thursday, October 30, 2025. The Garuda Indonesia-1 aircraft carrying Prabowo and his entourage landed at Gimhae Air Base, Busan at 22:20 local time.
Upon disembarking from the plane, Prabowo was greeted by the Minister of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration of the Republic of Korea, retired Major General Seok Jong Gun, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono, Vice Mayor of Gyeongju Song Ho-Jun, Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Cecep Herawan, and the Indonesian Air Attache Colonel Pnb Muhammad Arief. Prabowo then walked past the honor guard troops.
The APEC 2025 summit series brought together economic leaders of APEC member countries to discuss strategic policy directions in the Asia-Pacific region. This year's APEC summit carries the theme "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper," reflecting the shared commitment of APEC members to create a better future for the next generation.
APEC 2025 emphasized three main priorities: connectivity, innovation, and prosperity. Through these priorities, the discussions will focus on trade and investment facilitation, people-to-people connections, digital transition and sustainable economy, strengthening of MSMEs and vulnerable groups, and demographic changes.
During the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM), Prabowo is scheduled to speak on strengthening economic cooperation in the region. Also accompanying the Head of State on the journey from Jakarta to South Korea is Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
