TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Mandate Party (PAN) faction has proposed the suspension of salaries, allowances, and facilities for its members in the House of Representatives (DPR) who are non-active. Two non-active PAN faction members in the parliament are Eko Hendro Purnomo (Eko Patrio) and Satria Utama (Uya Kuya).
The Chair of the PAN Faction in the DPR, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, stated that the request to suspend the entitlements of parliamentary members is a form of the faction's accountability and public trust. "The PAN faction has requested that the entitlements such as salaries, allowances, and other facilities attached to the position of non-active members of the DPR be suspended for the duration of their non-active status," she said in a written statement on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Putri mentioned that the request has been submitted for processing through the DPR General Secretariat and the Ministry of Finance. According to the PAN Faction, this request is an effort to uphold the dignity of the DPR. Additionally, the step is to ensure that the use of state budget complies with regulations, while still emphasizing a fair, transparent, and official process.
Previously, the Central Leadership Council of PAN suspended the Secretary General of PAN, Eko Patrio, and politician Uya Kuya as members of the PAN Faction in the DPR, effective from Monday, September 1, 2025. This decision was announced by the Vice Chair of PAN, Viva Yoga Mauladi, on Sunday, August 31, 2025. Viva also conveyed PAN's apology to the entire Indonesian public.
"PAN urges the public to remain calm, patient, and fully trust the government led by President Prabowo Subianto," said Viva in a written statement.
Eko Patrio was criticized after uploading a parody video on his personal TikTok account @ekopatriosuper, showing himself dancing to 'horeg' music. The video was deemed to mock the public and challenge those who criticized the dancing of parliamentary members during the annual session of the MPR on Friday, August 15, 2025.
Uya Kuya became the target of public anger after responding to a similar issue. Uya stated that dancing was normal because he is an artist. The PAN politician also mentioned that all DPR members should be active like artists, sharing their daily activities through social media content. "Well, we are artists. We are members of the DPR, so we are artists," said Uya Kuya.
