TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - OpenAI has released an update to the feature Advanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT. This feature enables responsive voice conversation and reduces the tendency to interrupt users while speaking.
As quoted from TechCrunch, OpenAI's latest update aims to address the common issue of AI voice assistants disturbing users when they pause to think or take a breath.
About Advanced Voice Mode
As quoted from the OpenAI website, Advanced Voice Mode in ChatGPT presents conversations in a natural and real-time manner. This mode is capable of emotion capture and response, and non-verbal cues. The feature is included in all premium packages and will be downgraded to the standard mode if usage limits are reached. This also depends on factors such as connection quality or unmet hardware requirements.
Users can activate this mode by looking at the icon at the bottom right to try the Advanced Voice Mode. Click on the icon to use it. Users can disable or enable the microphone by selecting the icon at the bottom left of the screen.
To end the conversation, click on the red icon at the bottom right of the screen. Users need microphone permission in the ChatGPT app to use this feature. Advanced Voice Mode's input and output audio usage is limited daily, and the exact limitations may change. When the limit is reached, the conversation ends, and users will be prompted to use the standard voice mode.
Advanced Voice Mode currently cannot create memories or access previous memories. This mode also does not have access to specific instructions.
Advanced Voice Mode can continue in the same mode, text, or the standard voice mode. Advanced Voice Mode does not yet support abilities such as memories and specific instructions, and conversations in text or standard voice mode cannot be continued in Advanced Voice Mode.
On iPhone, turning on microphone isolation can help avoid unwanted interference. Try closing and restarting the application if you have an issue. It should be noted that the experience of using Advanced Voice Mode has not been optimized for use with Bluetooth or speakerphone in a car.
How to Activate Advanced Voice Mode
1. Web
Click the Profile Icon, then Customize ChatGPT, Advanced, and Uncheck the Advanced Voice box.
2. Android
Click the Profile Icon, then Personalize, Custom Instructions, Advanced, Advanced Voice switch.
3. iOS
Click the side menu icon to the left, click the Profile Icon, Personalize, Customize ChatGPT, Advanced, Advanced Voice switch.
