TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The President of Indonesia 2014-2024 Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended a private breakfast event as part of the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2026 in New Delhi, India, on Friday, February 20, 2026. Jokowi's aide, Police Commissioner Adjutant Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah, conveyed this information to journalists in Solo today via WhatsApp.
"Amid fasting, Bapak Joko Widodo attended the private breakfast event held by the Bloomberg New Economy Forum," Syarif wrote.
He stated that the meeting lasted for about 1.5 hours and discussed the issue of artificial intelligence sovereignty. The discussion was attended by around 22 participants from various backgrounds, including leaders of global technology companies, research institutions, and government figures.
Syarif mentioned several attendees, including President and CEO of U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Mukesh Aghi, Anchor Bloomberg Haslinda Amin, COO Zoom Aparna Bawa, CEO and Founder Zscaler Jay Chaudhry, and Chief Technology Officer Ericsson Erik Ekudden. Also present were Editorial Director of Bloomberg New Economy Erik Schatzker and Global Head of Forums for Bloomberg Live David Hearn.
From the global corporate and industry sector, notable attendees included CEO and President of FedEx Rajesh Subramaniam, Managing Director and CEO of Infosys Salil Parekh, Chair of PwC India Sanjeev Krishan, and President and CEO of the Information Technology Industry Council Jason Oxman. The forum was also attended by former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Indian Minister of Railways, Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Syarif explained that during the forum, Jokowi was seated between Haslinda Amin and Erik Schatzker. Jokowi was also directly across from Rishi Sunak, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Rajesh Subramaniam.
"He sat between Haslinda and Erik Schatzker and was directly across from Rishi Sunak, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Rajesh Subramaniam," Syarif wrote.
The Bloomberg New Economy Forum is a global dialogue that brings together government leaders, business players, and technology figures to discuss global economic challenges and digital transformation. One of the main focuses of this year's discussion is AI sovereignty, intensifying global technological and geopolitical competition.
