TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government will provide a 20 percent toll fee discount from June to July 2025. This price cut is included in the 5 economic stimulus packages announced by the government on Monday, June 2, 2025.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the budget needed for this toll fee discount incentive is Rp 650 billion. However, the government will not use financing from the State Budget (APBN).
The Ministry of Public Works (PU), she said, has notified the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) to provide a discount. 'This will be carried out through non-APBN operations because in this case, the Ministry of Public Works has issued a circular to BUJT regarding the toll fee discount policy,' Sri said after a limited meeting at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, quoted from the official statement on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
The toll fee discount is expected to reach 110 million drivers during the school holiday in June and July. In addition to the price reduction for toll users, the government also offers transportation discounts, consisting of a 30 percent train ticket discount and a 50 percent ship ticket discount.
For air transportation users, the government provides a 6 percent Government-borne Value Added Tax (VAT) relief for plane tickets. The budget allocated for this transportation discount is Rp 940 billion from the State Budget.
According to Sri, this incentive is provided in conjunction with the school holiday activities. It is hoped that the discount can increase domestic travel and stimulate the domestic economy. 'Therefore, this transportation discount applies comprehensively to all modes of transportation,' she said.
The total budget allocated for these five incentive packages is Rp 24.44 trillion. Consisting of Rp 23.59 trillion from the State Budget and Rp 0.85 trillion from non-APBN. In addition to the toll fee discount, another incentive that does not use State Budget financing is a 50 percent discount on work accident guarantee premium (JKK) for 6 months. The incentive budget for 2.7 million workers in 6 labor-intensive sub-sector industries is Rp 200 billion from non-APBN.
