
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries said fishery exports value across Indonesian regions reached Rp1 trillion during the Eid holiday season. From March 24 to April 2, over 20,000 tons of fishery products were exported.
"The frequency of national fisheries exports during the 7 days before and 1 day after the Eid holiday amounted to 2,774 times, with a total volume of 20,225,966 kilograms, and worth approximately Rp1 trillion," said the head of the Marine and Fisheries Products Quality Control and Monitoring at the ministry, Ishartini, in a written statement quoted on Wednesday, April 9, 2025.
According to her, the achievement is testament to the ministry’s commitment to safeguarding the fishery products exports during the Eid holiday, as exports continue in 32 provinces across the country at the time. Indonesia's leading fishery commodities in the global market include shrimp, tuna-skipjack, squid, octopus, crab, and seaweed.
Ishartini also detailed the destination countries of fishery exports during the 2025 Eid holiday. These countries include: Australia, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Qatar, China Taiwan, the United States, the Netherlands, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Korea, Kuwait, the Philippines, Spain, France, Jordan, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Zimbabwe, and Mexico.
Based on ministry data, North Sumatra Province recorded 413 times of exporting fishery products, with a total of 4,540,893 kilograms. This was followed by East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which recorded 18 times of exports with a total of 13,159 kilograms, and Riau Islands, with 54 exports totaling 227,822 kilograms.
Meanwhile, Bali Province exported 159 times with a total of 312,902 kilograms, South Sulawesi 131 times with 1,850,855 kilograms, and South Kalimantan 19 times with a total of 22,974 kilograms. Next, East Java Province 133 times with a total of 2,850,832 kilograms.
Bangka Belitung Province exported 11 times with a total of 41,290 kilograms of fishery products. Then, from the Southwest Papua Province, 46,047 kilograms were exported in 17 times.
"In general, from the westernmost to the easternmost part of Indonesia, the export process was well-served even on holidays. Alhamdulillah, all export activities faced no obstacles in the destination countries," said Ishartini.
