TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The new installment "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" grossed US$1 billion in global revenue in just six days of showing in theaters, according to People.
People reported on Tuesday, as quoted by ANTARA, that "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" became the second-fastest film ever to reach the milestone after "Avengers: Endgame" (2019).
The film Avengers: Endgame" could earn US$1.2 billion in its opening weekend worldwide. "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" has recorded a total revenue of US$1.05 billion worldwide as of Tuesday.
Marvel and Sony's latest blockbuster film grossed US$407 million in the North American domestic market and US$645.8 million in the international market.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” set a record when it was screened in theaters on July 31, 2026.
The film, starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon, achieved the record for the biggest domestic opening weekend of all time with a gross of US$360 million in North America. The film also set records for the highest opening-day and Thursday-opening gross in North American box office history.
Additionally, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” recorded its highest Monday gross of all time, earning US$47 million and surpassing the previous record held by “Black Panther” (2018).
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said he never expected "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" to surpass "Avengers: Endgame" domestic opening weekend record in North America. Speaking to Variety, Feige said he was surprised but delighted that the record was broken by the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 38th film.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" marks Tom Holland's fourth solo outing as Peter Parker after "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021).
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" became the fourth film of 2026 to gross more than US$1 billion globally, following "Toy Story 5," "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie," and "Michael."
