TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Manpower Yassierli said the youths must prepare to face future challenges in the workforce, especially in green jobs. According to him, this aligns with the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, where Indonesia seeks to become a developed state and enter the top 5 economic powers.
"To achieve this, the role of college students is pivotal and must be prepared from now on. This is the challenge that we must face together," said Yassierli in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, September 13, 2025.
According to Yassierli, green jobs are expected to become more dominant in the workforce structure by 2045. However, he noted that many universities have not prepared curricula to produce workers with "green" competencies.
"Green jobs contribute to preserving or restoring the environment, either through specific tasks, certain skills, the application of eco-friendly processes, or producing eco-friendly output," he said.
Yassierli called on the Indonesian youths, especially students, to commit to improving themselves through literacy and continued learning. "The challenges of the future cannot be predicted with certainty. That's why the main key is learning. There are things discussed in lectures, but there are also things that must be learned on your own. Lifelong learning is the main preparation to face changes," he said.
He added that vocational education plays a crucial role in preparing superior human resources capable of competing in the era of green economy.
"With policy support, training, and the right ecosystem, Indonesia is believed to be able to enlarge the transition of the workforce towards green jobs and support sustainable development achievements," said the Minister of Manpower.
