Floods Still Inundate 127 Neighborhoods and 6 Roads in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Hundreds of neighborhood units (RTs) and road sections are submerged in floodwater in Jakarta as dusk falls on Friday, February 20, 2026. Widespread flooding has occurred after heavy rain inundated Jakarta and its surrounding areas since morning, triggering overflow at various points.

Mohamad Yohan, the Head of the Data and Information Center for Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Jakarta, said the affected areas are scattered across West Jakarta, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta. He said, "Currently, 127 neighborhoods and 6 road sections are submerged," in a statement released on Friday.

In West Jakarta, floods swept in 33 neighborhoods. The details are as follows: 11 RTs in Kedaung Kali Angke with a height of 30-80 centimeters due to the overflow of Angke River; 11 RTs in Rawa Buaya with a height of 30-70 centimeters; 1 RT in Kebon Jeruk with a height of 40 centimeters; 5 RTs in South Kedoya with a height of 80 centimeters; 3 RTs in South Kembangan with a height of 40 centimeters due to the overflow of Pesanggrahan River; and 2 RTs in North Kembangan with a height of 40 centimeters.

In South Jakarta, 48 RTs are affected by the flood. It occurred in Cipulir (1 RT, 70 centimeters), Cilandak Barat (1 RT, 30 centimeters), Pondok Labu (1 RT, 30 centimeters), and Tanjung Barat (1 RT, 40 centimeters) due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

In addition, Pondok Pinang recorded 6 RTs submerged at a height of 90 centimeters. Pela Mampang (2 RTs, 30 centimeters), Rawajati (3 RTs, 30 centimeters), Cilandak Timur (2 RTs, 40-85 centimeters), East Pejaten (3 RTs, 95 centimeters), Bintaro (8 RTs, 40-70 centimeters), Pesanggrahan (9 RTs, 30-60 centimeters), North Petukangan (10 RTs, 100 centimeters), and Ulujami (1 RT, 90 centimeters) are also affected due to the high rainfall and the overflow of Pesanggrahan, Krukut, Ciliwung, Mampang, and Uangan rivers.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta recorded 45 RTs submerged in floods. The affected areas include Kampung Melayu (16 RTs, 110-150 centimeters), Bidara Cina (19 RTs, 80-125 centimeters), Balekambang (1 RT, 80 centimeters), Cawang (7 RTs, 40-80 centimeters), and Cililitan (2 RTs, 80 centimeters). All of them are caused by the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

In North Jakarta, flooding occurred in 1 RT in Rorotan with a height of 50 centimeters due to the overflow of Cakung Drain River.

BPBD also reported that floodwater has receded in several areas, including 2 RTs in Lebak Bulus, 2 RTs in Pesanggrahan, 1 RT in East Cilandak, 1 RT in North Kebayoran Lama, 3 RTs in North Cipete, and 39 RTs in Petogogan.

The flooded road sections (Jl) include:

  1. Jl. Pondok Karya, Pela Mampang, South Jakarta - 60 cm
  2. Jl. Strategi Raya, Joglo, West Jakarta - 30 cm
  3. Jl. Basoka Raya, Joglo, West Jakarta - 40 cm
  4. Jl. Puri Kembangan (in front of SMK Budi Murni), South Kedoya, West Jakarta - 60 cm
  5. Jl. Daan Mogot (glass factory), Rawa Buaya, West Jakarta - 20 cm
  6. Jl. Kali Sekretaris Pospol RW 05, Duri Kepa, West Jakarta - 30 cm

Meanwhile, several road sections that were previously submerged have reportedly receded, including Jalan Ciledug Raya (South Petukangan), Jalan Gaya Motor Raya (Kebon Bawang), Jalan Srengseng Raya (Srengseng), and Jalan Daan Mogot KM 13 (Rawa Buaya).
