Event Update - The commemoration of World Autism Awareness Day 2025 in Bandung was vibrant and meaningful. More than 400 participants from various autism communities and supporting organizations gathered at Taman Cikapayang, Dago, Bandung City, on Sunday to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. The event held on Sunday (20/4) provided a space for talented children from the autism community to express themselves and a moment to strengthen support for them.
The Mayor of Bandung, H.M. Farhan, attended the event and delivered an important message about the significance of creating a city that is welcoming to all its residents, including children with autism. "Bandung is a welcoming home for everyone," Farhan said in his speech, which was enthusiastically received by the participants and the attending communities.
The event was organized by Aksa Bumi Langit, Aksa Bumi Langit Music, and KUN Humanity System in collaboration with the Biruku Indonesia Foundation. Also present were inspirational figures such as Aryanti Benarto Farhan, the Chairperson of TP-PKK and Chairperson of RBM Kota Bandung, who unfolded a giant red and white flag as a symbol of inclusivity spirit.
Other notable figures who enlivened the event included Djulahsia Sukmarsa (Founder of Yayasan Biruku Indonesia), Anggi Frisca (Founder of Aksa Bumi Langit), Noey Java Jive (Executive Producer Aksa Bumi Langit Music), Joan Wakum (Producer), and M. Aldifi Tegar Rajasa, the main actor of the movie Tegar, which brought the issue of autism to the big screen.
One of the most touching moments was the flashmob performance of musical expression by children from the autism community. This performance was a tangible manifestation of Aksa Bumi Langit's mission to create an inclusive space for creativity and expression. "Through art, we want our talented younger brothers and sisters to shine in their own way," said Joan Wakum, who nurtures the Teman Tegar Choir.
Support for this event came from various parties, including Bank Bandung, SLB Pusppa Suryakanti, Our Dream Indonesia, MFA Group, Abimata, Abigail Rental, dr.Ells Coffee, INNI Digital Marketing, and Bakmi Parahyangan. Communities such as Yayasan Bintang, Komunitas Bumi Difable Istimewa, and dozens of special needs schools and social foundations also actively participated.
Through the commemoration of World Autism Awareness Day, Aksa Bumi Langit hopes that the spirit of inclusivity will continue to grow, not just as an annual event, but as a sustained movement. With continuous support from various parties, more and more children with autism can grow, create, and dream in a safe and supportive environment.
