TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Rainy weather is expected to continue to affect the Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta) area today, Monday, December 22, 2025. The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts light rainfall in several areas.
For the Jakarta area, only Central Jakarta is predicted to be cloudy today. The rest of the area has the potential for light rain. Meanwhile, in the vicinity of Jakarta, only Bekasi is mentioned by the BMKG to have no potential for rain.
As has been the case for the past few days, light rainfall continues to dampen Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Thick clouds move throughout the day driven by fairly strong winds, occasionally causing rainfall.
In the Weather Outlook for the Period of December 19 to 25, 2025, the BMKG stated that a tropical cyclone seed and cold surges significantly affect Indonesia's weather. The cyclone seed impacting Jakarta and its surrounding areas is 93S, which was declared on Sunday morning to have a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone.
The expected impact includes moderate to heavy rainfall and strong winds. The 93S cyclone seed began forming on December 11 and is currently located around the Indian Ocean, south of West Java.
