TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian National Entrepreneurs Alliance (AWKI) has warned the Indonesian government about the potential impact of the United States (US)-Israel attack on Iran on the implementation of the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages this year.

"It's possible that Umrah and Hajj departures could be delayed, and that would have an impact or consequence for the government," said Yudhiawan Wibisono, a member of the AWKI Advisory Board, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday.

He continued, saying that the conflict could also impact the national economy, as war can result in the loss of lives, property, and assets.

The Inspector General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) emphasized that Indonesia, as a peace-loving nation, condemns all forms of war.

Another member of the AWKI Advisory Board, Major General (Ret.) Rido Hermawan, believes that the US-Israel attack on Iran could impact the world's vital energy route, the Strait of Hormuz.

"We all know that the Strait of Hormuz is currently blocked and controlled by Iran," he said.

He added that nearly 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas flows through this route, impacting the national energy sector and domestic fuel prices.

"This will also impact us, especially in the energy sector," he said.

Therefore, he encouraged the government to pursue energy conservation programs and strengthen food security.

Meanwhile, AWKI Chair Robertus Rani Lopiga Taher emphasized the importance of strengthening the Pancasila ideology among the public, including online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers.

"Yes, we said earlier that Pancasila must always be present. In any case, Pancasila must be inherent in all of us," he said.

Previously, Israel launched an attack on Iran on February 28, 2026.

On a separate occasion, US President Donald Trump declared that the US military had begun a large-scale combat operation in Iran.

One of the US-Israel strikes involved seven rockets that struck Tehran, close to the residence of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran then launched rocket attacks on Israel and several other targets in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that President Prabowo Subianto was ready to travel to Iran to facilitate dialogue to restore a conducive security situation.

On March 1, 2026, the Iranian government confirmed the death of Ali Khamenei in the attack and declared 40 days of mourning and a week-long holiday.
