With a happiness score of 84 percent, Bangkok proudly claims the title of the best place to live in the world for Gen Z. The city’s blend of affordability, vibrant energy, and welcoming atmosphere makes it easy for young people to thrive. For many, the Thai capital isn’t just a home, but it is a lively community where friendships and opportunities flourish.
2. Melbourne, Australia
As Australia’s top city for international students, it is unsurprising that Melbourne charms Gen Z with its well-celebrated art culture. From colorful coffee shops and edgy restaurants to liveable streets, Melbourne truly shines. What’s more, the country has been doing superbly in providing inclusive healthcare and education welfare for all its citizens.
3. Cape Town, South Africa
Cape Town ranks high in Gen Z happiness, with 82 percent of them captivated by its stunning scenery, lively yet affordable nightlife, and vibrant urban energy. 6. Barcelona, Spain
At 77 percent, the city of Barcelona recorded the same diversity and inclusivity rating as Australia’s Melbourne, further claiming a more willing Gen Z to reside there. The city’s culture and open spirit make it especially appealing to young residents. Adding to that, 71 percent of Gen Z report feeling genuinely happy as part of Spain’s dynamic community.
7. Edinburgh, United Kingdom
With a vast expanse of green spaces and endless opportunities to access nature, Edinburgh truly deserves its place among the best places to live. Not only does it receive the highest score for its concern towards the environment, but the UK’s town also earns applause from Gen Z thanks to their walkable charms.
