TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of Violence (KontraS) notes that three out of 41 individuals reported missing during the week-long protests in Jakarta in late August have yet to be found. KontraS obtained this information through the reports submitted to the complaint center as of Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 09:30 a.m. local time.

KontraS' representative reported that the missing people are Bima Permana Putra, Muhammad Farhan Hamid, and Reno Syahputradewo.

Bima Permana Putra was last seen in Glodok, West Jakarta, on August 31, 2025. Meanwhile, Muhammad Farhan Hamid was reported missing on the same day near the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Kwitang, Central Jakarta. Reno Syahputradewo was reported missing a day earlier, also in the same area.

Based on the previous observation on September 8, 2025, at 06:40 p.m., the number of people still reported missing was four, an alleviation from the previous report of 5 missing people on September 7.

"One out of the five people previously missing has been verified and accounted for. The person and the one who reported them missing lost contact due to miscommunication, but it was not a case of forced disappearance," KontraS stated, as quoted from the Instagram account @kontras_update.

KontraS invites the public who have information regarding the whereabouts of the missing individuals to report it through the hotline number +6289635225998.

Previously, KontraS opened a center for reporting missing persons on August 31, 2025, in response to the rampant information on missing individuals during the demonstrations in various regions from August 25 to 31, 2025. Reports of missing persons can be submitted by filling out the online form at bit.ly/PoskoOrangHilang.

"This form is intended for anyone who needs assistance in tracing the whereabouts of family members, friends, relatives, or other individuals missing in the context of these events," KontraS stated.
