
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Supreme Court has rejected the cassation filed by Harvey Moeis, defendant in the tin trade corruption case, which brings his sentence to remain 20 years in prison.
The decision was registered in the court system with the number 5009 k/pid.sus/2025, inked by the panel of judges on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
The cassation panel of judges was led by Dwiarso Budi Santiarto, alongside Arizon Mega Jaya and Achmad Setyo Pudjoharsoyo.
The Jakarta corruption court previously sentenced Harvey Moeis to 6 years and 6 months in prison. He was also fined Rp1 billion with a subsidiary of 6 months in prison. He was also sentenced to return the corruption money, amounting to Rp210 billion.
The Jakarta High Court then aggravated Harvey Moeis' sentence to 20 years in prison. He was also fined Rp1 billion with a subsidiary of eight months in prison. Moeis is also obliged to return corruption money of Rp420 billion.
Harvey Moeis violated Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) item 1 of the Criminal Code, and Article 3 of Money Laundering Law No. 8 of 2010 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 item 1 of the Criminal Code.
