TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Several student organizations from various universities have released a statement regarding the emergence of the United Student Executive Body (BEM Bersatu) alliance. Representatives claiming to be students in this alliance accused the former UGM BEM Chairperson Tiyo Ardianto of having ties with certain political parties.
BEM Bersatu stated that the car used by Tiyo is allegedly registered under the name Siti Nuraini, the sister of retired Lieutenant General TNI Setyo Sularso. The retired general is mentioned as the father-in-law of retired Lieutenant General TNI Andhika Perkasa, a member of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle and a campaign team for Ganjar Pranowo in the 2024 Presidential Election.
PDIP denied involvement in the criticisms made by Tiyo Ardianto, especially regarding the criticism of the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Project. Meanwhile, Tiyo Ardianto chose not to respond to personal accusations.
The BEM Bersatu contains individuals who claim to be students and representatives of student organizations in several campuses. They include Wildan Ricky as the Chairperson of the Law Faculty Student Executive Board at Unisia, Muhammad Yani from the Law Faculty Student Executive Board at UIJ, Ardin Zulkifly as the Chairperson of the Social and Political Sciences Faculty Student Executive Board at the National University, Ardiansyah as the Chairperson of the Al-Aqidah Institute Student Executive Board, Ahmad Ghazy from the Psychology Student Executive Board at the State University of Jakarta, and Alfi as the Chairperson of the Economics and Business Faculty Student Executive Board at Pamulang University.
There are also students who claim to be the Chair of the UIC Law Student Executive Board, Rahmat Djimbula, Dicky from the FIPS Student Executive Board at Indraprasta PGRI University, Ahmad from the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics Student Executive Board at Bina Sarana Informatika University, and Rezky Anandar from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration Management Student Executive Board at STIAMI Institute.
Several student organizations, whose names have been used by BEM Bersatu, have stated their denial of being part of the alliance. The following are a series of clarifications:
Faculty of Engineering and Informatics Student Executive Board at Bina Sarana Informatika University
They stated that they have never sent representatives or attended press conferences organized by the BEM Bersatu alliance. The BEM FTI BSI mentioned that they do not have officials, members, or a chairperson named Ahmad, as claimed to be part of BEM Bersatu.
"BEM FTI UBSI has never authorized anyone to represent the organization in such activities," their statement on the @bemftiubsi Instagram account read on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
Psychology Faculty Student Executive Board at the State University of Jakarta
This student organization denied sending a representative on behalf of Ahmad Ghazy to the BEM Bersatu alliance. They stated that their organization's identity has been misused, which is considered a violation of organizational ethics.
According to BEM FPSI UNJ, Ahmad Ghazy is a 2020 alumni and is not part of this year's members or officials. "The actions and views expressed are the personal responsibility of the individual," they stated on the @bemfpsiunj Instagram account.
Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the National University
In their official statement, the faculty denied the claim by Ardin Zulkifly of being the Chairperson of the FISIP Unas Student Executive Board. They stated that they do not have a faculty-level BEM organization.
FISIP Unas stated that Ardin Zulkifly's presence in the BEM Bersatu alliance is his personal responsibility. "He does not have the institutional capacity to represent the National University Faculty of Social and Political Sciences based on the aforementioned position," the statement read.
Faculty of Educational Sciences and Social Knowledge at Indraprasta PGRI University Student Executive Board
This organization denied Dicky's claim of representing BEM FIPPS Unindra in the BEM Bersatu alliance. They stated that Dicky is not part of the organization.
"All actions, statements, and consequences are the personal responsibility of the individual," the official statement read on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
BEM FIPPS Unindra stated their commitment to maintaining the integrity and independence of the student movement. This movement is supposed to be a space for a struggle based on intellectual values, responsibility, and in line with the collective interests of students.
"The use of institutional identities should be done with a spirit of togetherness and through good coordination," the statement concluded.
