TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Seven Palestinians were killed and several others were injured as a result of an Israeli attack on the refugee camp in Bureij, in the Gaza Strip. The spokesperson for the Gaza civil defense rescue service, Mahmoud Bassal, stated that the incident occurred due to an Israeli drone firing two missiles near a police post in that refugee area on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Medical sources, as reported by Al Jazeera, confirmed the morning attack on April 11, 2026. They said the attack hit a group of civilians in the "Block 9" area of Bureij. Ambulance crews faced difficult conditions as they tried to transport the bodies and injured to the nearest hospital.

Al-Aqsa Hospital in Central Gaza told AFP that they received six bodies and seven injured individuals, including four in critical condition. The nearby Al-Awda Hospital reported receiving one fatality and two injured people.

Separately, in the southern Gaza Strip, the Nasser Medical Complex said they had received three injured individuals after an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle attacked a refugee tent in the town of Bani Suheila, located east of Khan Younis.

Al Jazeera correspondents in the field also reported Israeli artillery fire and heavy tank shelling near Bani Suheila and east of Gaza City.

Israeli attacks in Gaza have claimed over 72,300 lives since they began in October 2023. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, this figure includes at least 738 fatalities since the ceasefire came into effect last October.

This number also encompasses at least 32 deaths since early April 2026. Among the victims is Al Jazeera journalist Mohammed Wishah, who was killed in an attack west of Gaza City earlier this week.

UN's Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, Volker Turk, on Friday, April 10, condemned the recent Israeli violence in the Gaza Strip. "Tthe unrelenting pattern of killings reflects widespread Israeli impunity.

"For the past 10 days, Palestinians are still being killed and injured in what is left of their homes, shelters and tents of displaced families, on the streets, in vehicles, at a medical facility and a classroom," Turk said.

Raids and Arrests in the West Bank Persist

Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers and forces raided homes and villages throughout the morning, continuing an escalating campaign to expand their illegal settlements.

Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli forces detained seven individuals to the east of Qalqilya and separately raided Bir al-Basha, near the city of Jenin, where they apprehended various residents and interrogated them.

Various foreign governments and organizations, including the European Union, Turkey, Sweden, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, have condemned these actions as blatant violations of international law.
