TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Saudi Arabia is using smart technology and AI-based platforms to provide services to nearly two million pilgrims during this year's Hajj pilgrimage. As reported by the Middle East Monitor, Saudi Arabia has launched a number of smart digital services to facilitate the pilgrims.
One of the services is Manarah 2, an AI robot located in key locations that will help provide real-time assistance for Hajj pilgrims in more than 20 languages.
Another service is the Nusuk card, which allows pilgrims to make appointments to visit the sacred Rawdah area in the Prophet's Mosque. With this card, pilgrims can also access contact information and their accommodation details, which will reduce the number of lost individuals.
Saudi Arabia also provides the Makkah Bus guide center, equipped with smart technology. This platform will operate in conjunction with the Nusuk platform and the smart Arshidni platform to ensure the safe and accurate transportation and arrival of pilgrims to their accommodations.
Tawakkalna, a mobile health application, will inform pilgrims about their health conditions and provide access to needed medical services.
Saudi Arabia will also introduce the Smart Enrichment Assistant, an innovative application that informs visitors in various languages about many valuable services, including prayer times, imam schedules, and the location of religious classes.
Saudi authorities have also launched the Makkah Route Initiative, a high-quality service to streamline travel procedures for Hajj pilgrims in their home countries and facilitate smooth and seamless processes at designated departure points.
Riyadh has also launched a baggage coding and sorting system to facilitate the baggage delivery process at departure airports and deliver the baggage to pilgrim accommodations in Mecca or Medina.
There is also a mobile application for reading and learning the Islamic holy book, the Quran, to enhance the spiritual engagement of pilgrims. According to Saudi authorities, more than 1.2 million pilgrims have arrived to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, which will begin next week.
