TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) won one of the most dramatic Champions League matches, winning 5-4 against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal at the Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris on Tuesday.
The match was a goal-by-goal affair, with PSG scoring five goals, while Bayern scored four.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele each scored twice for PSG, while Joao Neves scored the other.
Bayern's four goals were scored by four different players: Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Dayot Upamecano, and Luis Diaz.
PSG only needed a point at Bayern's home ground in next week's second leg to reach the Champions League final, while Bayern needed to win by a two-goal margin.
Bayern took the lead in the 17th minute after Harry Kane converted a penalty.
PSG equalized after Kvaratskhelia's individual effort ended in a goal in the 24th minute.
PSG took a 2-1 lead in the 33rd minute after Joao Neves headed a corner kick into the net.
Bayern equalized at 2-2 after Michael Olise's shot was converted in the 41st minute.
PSG restored their lead five minutes into stoppage time when Dembele converted a penalty that Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer couldn't stop.
In the second half, PSG extended their lead to 4-2 after Achraf Hakimi's cross was converted by Kvaratskhelia in the 56th minute.
PSG further increased their lead to 5-2 after Dembele scored his second goal in the 58th minute.
Bayern reduced the deficit to 3-5 after Joshua Kimmich's cross was headed home by Upamecano in the 65th minute.
Bayern pulled even, making it 4-5 after Luis Diaz also scored in the 68th minute.
Bayern Munich tried to equalize, but failed to do so, and PSG won 5-4.
