TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Dasco shared details of the meeting on his personal Instagram account, stating that he reported updates on the "political, security, and national economic situation, as well as legislative recommendations from DPR to the government."
Dasco uploaded two photos of the meeting. In the first photo, the two Gerindra Party figures were seen engaging in a conversation at the Merdeka Palace. The second photo features other Gerinda officials, namely State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi and Foreign Minister Sugiono, who were also present at the meeting.
Dasco's visit to the Presidential Palace coincided with President Prabowo's return from his Europeain trip to Russia and France on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
During his three-day trip, Prabowo met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and France's Emmanuel Macron.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said Prabowo "brought home various strategic agreements," including energy cooperation with Russia for crude oil and LPG supplies.
Following his visit to Russia, Prabowo traveled to Paris, France. "In Paris, President Prabowo met with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss increased cooperation in energy, education, and digital communication, as well as long-term economic investment," said Teddy.
With Macron, Prabowo discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in several sectors, including procurement of military equipment and defense industry strengthening. Additionally, the two leaders discussed energy transition, the development of new renewable energy, infrastructure and transportation, as well as education and creative economy.
"A brief two-day visit to two superpower countries, holders of a UN veto power and the world's largest resource producers, resulted in significant and concrete outcomes for Indonesia," he said.
