TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has approved a Rp100.1 trillion budget across three years for post-Sumatra disaster recovery. This budget will be distributed through 23 primary ministries/agencies and 10 supporting ministries/agencies.
The announcement was made by Minister of Home Affairs and Head of the Sumatra Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force in Sumatra, Tito Karnavian. Tito stated, "The president has issued a directive to approve the three-year post-disaster recovery budget of Rp100.1 trillion, whose disbursement will be divided into three phases," he said on Thursday, June 18, 2026, as quoted from Antara.
Tito explained that the budget will be divided into three stages: Rp38.9 trillion in 2026, Rp32.9 trillion in 2027, and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028.
The budget will be distributed to 23 government ministries such as the Public Works Ministry, Transportation Ministry, Agriculture Ministry, and Housing and Settlements Ministry, as well as 10 supporting agencies.
According to Tito, most ministries/agencies have already requested the recovery fund from the Ministry of Finance. "Five have already received the funds and begun implementing rehabilitation and reconstruction programs according to their responsibilities," he added.
"The Finance Ministry is processing the application from other ministries. We appealed to the steering committee head and members, as well as the Finance Ministry, to help expedite the process," he stated.
Local authorities have also received the Rp10.6 trillion (US$593 million) regional transfer fund allocated for the three disaster-affected provinces as instructed by President Prabowo.
"Rp1.6 trillion (US$89.5 million) will be allocated to Aceh, Rp2.6 trillion (US$145 million) for West Sumatra, and Rp6.1 trillion (US$341 million) for North Sumatra," he added.
Furthermore, Tito hopes that the budget will be optimized by ministries/agencies, including regional governments, to expedite the reconstruction of public infrastructure and facilities affected by the disaster last year.
"We held a meeting with all regents and mayors in Aceh to ensure the budget will be used to address urgent issues in their respective regions," he said.
Previously, the minister said that the post-disaster recovery in several areas in Sumatra has shown positive progress, with 97 percent of temporary housing for affected residents, as well as the reconstruction of public facilities, completed.
