TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto attended the 2026 Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony at the Pancasila Building grounds on Taman Pejambon Street in Central Jakarta on Monday, June 1.
The president arrived at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs complex at around 09:36 AM local time in a white Maung MV3 Garuda Limousine, the domestically developed presidential vehicle.
Members of Prabowo’s Red and White Cabinet had arrived earlier, before 09:00 AM Among those in attendance were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Human Rights Minister Natalius Pigai, and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
Also present were senior state officials, including Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, National Intelligence Agency (BIN) Chief Muhammad Herindra, National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander Gen. Agus Subiyanto.
Several former national leaders also attended the ceremony. Tempo observed the presence of Indonesia’s fifth president, Megawati Soekarnoputri, as well as former Vice Presidents Jusuf Kalla and Ma’ruf Amin.
Prabowo served as the ceremony’s inspector. This year’s Pancasila Day commemoration carries the theme, “Pancasila Unites the Nation, Foundation of World Peace,” highlighting the continued relevance of Indonesia’s state ideology in preserving national unity and contributing to global peace.
The president entered the ceremonial grounds at around 09:55 AM. As of the time of writing, the commemoration ceremony was still underway.
During the event, Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani recited the Pancasila text, while Speaker of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin read the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.
