TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - During the Tudum 2025 event on Saturday, May 31, Netflix unveiled the first six minutes of Wednesday Season 2. According to People, the scene features Wednesday Addams (once again portrayed by Jenna Ortega) trapped in the basement of a serial killer.
"He's under the delusion that I'm his next victim," said Wednesday. The eerie clip shows her surrounded by life-sized dolls before flashing back to six weeks earlier, where she's seen spending her summer vacation sharpening her psychic powers. Once she gains control of them, she begins to pursue Scalper, the killer she once dubbed her childhood favorite.
Lady Gaga Joins Cast as Rosaline Rotwood
Netflix also officially confirmed at the event that Lady Gaga will guest star in the second season. Her casting had previously been a subject of fan speculation, especially after her song “Bloody Mary” featured prominently in Season 1.
Gaga will take on the role of Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious and iconic educator at Nevermore Academy. Her character is set to appear in the second half of the season, which debuts on September 3, 2025.
What to Expect in Season 2
The show is once again helmed by creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Speaking to Tudum, Gough shared, "I think the most fun about this was asking, ‘What would Wednesday do during her summer vacation?" The hit series first premiered in November 2022 and helped earn Jenna Ortega Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
Netflix had earlier released a teaser in April, showing Wednesday navigating airport security, pulling out an assortment of weapons—and Thing—from her luggage. Season 2 will roll out in two parts, with the first premiering on August 6, 2025.
Alongside Ortega, familiar faces from Season 1 will return, including Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gomez), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester).
The new season also welcomes several additions: Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump, Joonas Suotamo stepping in as Lurch, and Steve Buscemi as Nevermore’s new headmaster, Dort. Other notable newcomers include Billie Piper, Christopher Lloyd, Thandiwe Newton, and Heather Matarazzo.
