TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad considers it reasonable that the allocation for renting a minister's hotel room is budgeted up to Rp9.3 million per night. He believes that the payment allocation for the accommodation is not excessive.
"No, it's not excessive," he said when met at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Dasco also insists that the allocation for minister's hotel rental should not be questioned, even though the government is implementing budget cuts. According to Dasco, the budget must have already been allocated for the activities of the ministers carrying out state duties.
"Budget efficiency is not because we don't have a budget. Budget efficiency is indeed more focused on providing activities for the people," said the Deputy Chairman of the Gerindra Party.
Dasco is confident that the hotel expenses are justified by necessity and do not interfere with the broader goal of fiscal efficiency.
"So, I think these kinds of things don't need to be debated," he added.
Earlier, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati officially established the standard travel costs for state civil servants, which will apply starting in 2026. The new guidelines are outlined in the Ministry of Finance Regulation Number 32 of 2025 regarding Standard Input Costs for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
According to the regulation, the government will cover accommodation costs for official domestic travel ranging from Rp576,000 to Rp9,331,000 per person per day. The lowest tier applies to lower-ranking civil servants (eselon IV or grades I–III) in West Kalimantan, while the highest is designated for state officials, deputy ministers, or eselon I officials stationed in Jakarta.
For example, in Bengkulu, the state covers a minimum hotel rate of Rp2,140,000 per day for high-ranking officials. In contrast, in Jakarta, the approved rate can reach as high as Rp9,331,000 per person per day.
In addition to accommodation, the government also funds round-trip airline tickets (both domestic and international) for official travel. These tickets may be in economy, business, or executive class, depending on the travel requirements.
The highest rate for domestic official trip airline tickets for business class reaches Rp22,109,000, from Jayapura to Manado. Meanwhile, the lowest rate for business class airline tickets is Rp1,840,000, from Denpasar to Mataram.
