TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto reshuffled the Red and White Cabinet on Monday, April 27, 2026. This reshuffle marked the fifth since the Gerindra Party Chair was inaugurated as head of state in October 2024.

This time, several officials ousted from the government received new assignments. In addition, there were also shifts in the positions of incumbent ministers with the arrival of new officials. More information about the cabinet reshuffle is summarized below:

Prabowo Inaugurates 6 Officials

At the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Prabowo inaugurated six officials and led the oath of office. "That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold the ethics of office and work to the best of my ability with a full sense of responsibility," Prabowo stated, dictating the oath.

Through this inauguration, Prabowo appointed Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat, Chairman of the Confederation of All Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI), as Minister of Environment and Head of the Environmental Management Agency.

Jumhur replaces the previous official, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, who was moved to Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food. Hanif will assist Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, his colleague in the National Mandate Party (PAN).

In addition, Prabowo also appointed several officials outside ministerial positions. Muhammad Qodari was appointed Head of the Indonesian Government Communications Agency (Bakom Pemerintah RI), replacing Angga Raka Prabowo. Qodari also resigned from his previous position as Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP).

Qodari's former position was filled by retired Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) official Dudung Abdurachman. Dudung also served as Special Advisor to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for National Defense since the beginning of Prabowo's administration.

Prabowo also appointed Hasan Nasbi as Special Advisor to the President for Communications. This officially marked Hasan's return to the Palace after leaving the Presidential Communications Office in April of last year.

Finally, Prabowo also appointed former Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Abdul Kadir Karding as head of the agency. Karding, who was removed from his ministerial position in 2025, is now the Head of the Indonesian Quarantine Agency.

Dudung Abdurachman Promises 24-Hour Openness to Reports

After being inaugurated as Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman promised that the KSP under his leadership would be open to serving the public. He considered the KSP to be a liaison between citizens and the government. "So, whatever complaints (the public may have), I will be open to reports from the public 24 hours a day," said Dudung.

He explained that this service includes efforts to evaluate and monitor the programs of ministries and institutions. Dudung said he hopes the KSP can collaborate with ministries and regional governments in overseeing President Prabowo's programs.

New Duties for Hasan Nasbi

Special Advisor to the President for Communications Hasan Nasbi said he is returning to Prabowo's side to serve as an assistant. He will collaborate with the Government Communications Agency (Bakom), the new name for the PCO, and the Ministry of Communication and Digital in carrying out his special advisory duties.

The goal, Hasan said, is to strengthen government communications. "So that the messages we want to reach the public can be better, can be more easily conveyed, and understood by the public," he said.

Hasan also mentioned the need to clarify false news. "Including that the government will and must also clarify matters, news, misconceptions, or misinformation about the government," he said.

Prabowo and Rocky Gerung's Interaction

Academic Rocky Gerung visited the Presidential Palace in Jakarta to attend the inauguration of his colleague, Jumhur Hidayat. After the inauguration ceremony, Rocky also had time to shake hands and chat with Prabowo.

Prabowo was seen greeting the new officials before approaching the guests, including Rocky, who was standing with Syahganda Nainggolan, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Great Institute.

Prabowo smiled as he greeted Rocky and Syahganda. They laughed several times during their brief exchange. Rocky was also seen patting President Prabowo on the arm and back with a smile.

According to Rocky, Prabowo referred to himself as a dissident, or someone who doesn't align with the government. "I shook hands with Mr. Prabowo earlier, and Mr. Prabowo was my friend in a discussion earlier, and he (said), 'Wow, Mr. Rocky, thank you for coming,' and it turns out Mr. Rocky is still a dissident," he said, recounting his experience.

Rocky said that Prabowo's expression at the time suggested he was joking. He also responded to Prabowo's joke, "I am indeed a dissident," Rocky said.
