TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Defence Society (JDS), an independent institution specializing in defense, geostrategy, and geopolitics, organized a master class training in collaboration with Lacroix, a leading French company in the defense and security sector, at the Antara Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
Attended by several journalists from national media, the master class training was designed as an exclusive forum to enrich participants' insights on various technical and strategic defense issues that are rarely discussed in daily coverage.
The head of Lacroix's office in ASEAN and the Pacific, Remy Gardon, emphasized the urgency of collaboration and mutual understanding between defense industry players and the media. Meanwhile, Lacroix's project head, Sbastien Gehin, presented various advanced protection technologies and systems developed by the company.
The co-founder of JDS, Ade Marboen, explained that initiatives like this are important to bridge public understanding of the increasingly complex defense dynamics.
"We want journalists to have direct access to relevant knowledge and sources, to strengthen the quality of reporting and analysis," he said.
Established since 1848, Lacroix is part of the Etienne Lacroix Group. Lacroix Defense has long been known as a pioneer in pyrotechnic protection systems for air, land, sea, and space applications.
Lacroix has opened a representative office in Indonesia. Lacroix's products are already used within the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). Products that have been used include flares for F-16 and F-50 fighter aircraft and air defense systems.
Furthermore, Lacroix has signed a letter of intent with the national private armored vehicle manufacturer, PT Sentra Surya Ekajaya (SSE), to equip SSE's armored vehicles with ground protection systems from Lacroix.
Lacroix will participate in Indo Defence 2025, which will take place from June 11-14, 2025, at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Kemayoran, Jakarta. This participation demonstrates Lacroix's commitment to supporting regional security through state-of-the-art technology.
