TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Gaza Health Ministry reported that Israeli strikes have destroyed the only kidney dialysis center in Gaza. Israel bombed the Noura al-Kaabi Kidney Dialysis Center in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza.
The dialysis center, which is part of the Indonesian Hospital, was serving more than 160 patients with kidney failure.
The center was the only dialysis facility in northern Gaza.
The latest attack occurred weeks after the center was reopened following a major Israeli strike a few weeks ago, according to Muneer al-Bursh, a director general at the enclave's Ministry of Health. Recordings released by al-Bursh showed Israeli bulldozers at the site.
The ministry stated that 41 percent of kidney failure patients in Gaza died over the course of the war. Patients died after being denied access to the dialysis center and due to the destruction of the centers and departments designated for them.
In addition to destroying the dialysis center, Israel also attacked Palestinians queuing for aid. The UN's human rights office (OHCHR) condemned Israel's heinous acts against Palestinian aid seekers in southern Rafah and near the Netzarim corridor in central Gaza.
The killings on Sunday followed several reports of deadly attacks at the sites between May 27 and May 31, 2025, killing at least dozens of Palestinians and injuring 80 others.
OHCHR once again emphasized that Israel's military humanitarian aid mechanisms violate international standards for aid distribution, endanger civilian populations, and contribute to the "catastrophic situation in Gaza."
“The weaponization of food for civilians and restricting or preventing their access to other life-sustaining services constitute a war crime and may constitute elements of other international crimes, including genocide," OHCHR said in a written statement quoted from Al Jazeera.
