TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Green SM Indonesia has responded to a fatal rail collision involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek intercity train and a commuter line (KRL) in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia, on Monday night, April 27, 2026.

In an official statement posted on its Instagram account @id.greensm on Tuesday, the electric taxi operator said the incident occurred at a level crossing near Bekasi Timur Station and involved one of its vehicles and a passing train.

“Green SM Indonesia is closely monitoring the incident at the crossing area near Bekasi Timur Station on April 27, 2026, involving one of our vehicles and a passing train,” the company said.

The firm added that it has shared relevant information with authorities and is fully supporting the ongoing investigation.

Based on preliminary accounts from victims, the commuter train had stopped after a disruption caused by another train traveling in the opposite direction that struck the taxi. While the KRL was stationary, the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, approaching from behind, collided with it.

Green SM Indonesia said it remains committed to maintaining high safety standards through improved operations, supervision, and service quality.

“We will continue to provide updates as verified information becomes available,” the company said.

Separately, state railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) reported that all 240 passengers aboard the Argo Bromo Anggrek train survived the crash. However, six passengers on the commuter train were killed and at least 80 others were injured.

KAI’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, said all medical expenses for the injured and funeral costs for the deceased would be fully covered by insurance and the company.

“Our priority is to ensure that all victims receive the best possible care and to continue coordinating with all parties to ensure the response runs smoothly,” she said in a statement on Tuesday.
