TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The German national team made two changes to their lineup for their match against Paraguay in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup at Boston Stadium, United States (US), on Tuesday at 3:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.
Coach Julian Nagelsmann introduced Nathaniel Brown and Deniz Undav as starters in place of David Raum and Jamal Musiala.
These changes came after Germany suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ecuador in their previous match. However, Nagelsmann retained his 4-2-3-1 formation against Paraguay.
Manuel Neuer was once again entrusted with guarding the German goal. Joshua Kimmich, captain, alongside Antonio Rudiger, Jonathan Tah, and Nathaniel Brown, will be in the backline.
In midfield, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Felix Nmecha will balance the game, while Florian Wirtz and Leroy Sane will support the attack.
Kai Havertz will be the spearhead, supported by Deniz Undav, who will be given a starting role.
Meanwhile, Paraguay opted for a 4-5-1 formation to counter Germany's dominance. Orlando Gill guarded the goal, while Gustavo Gomez led the defense alongside Juan Jose Caceres, Junior Alonso, and Jose Canale.
Five players were deployed in midfield, with Miguel Almiron driving the game, accompanied by Andres Cubas, Damian Bobadilla, and Matias Galarza.
Julio Enciso and Gabriel Avalos were trusted to be the mainstays in attack.
