TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The number of victims in the train crash between the Commuter Line (KRL) and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train at East Bekasi Station continued to rise as of Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that all victims have received medical treatment and the evacuation process is being carried out as efficiently as possible.
"Currently, four people have died, and 79 people have been injured. We have taken all victims to the hospital for the best possible treatment. We are continuing the evacuation process and ensuring all victims receive assistance as quickly as possible," said Bobby.
Separately, KAI Vice President of Corporate Communications Anne Purba confirmed that all the victims were Commuter Line passengers. All passengers on the Argo Bromo Anggrek train were reported safe.
"We express our deepest condolences and apologize for this incident," she said.
A collision between two trains occurred at East Bekasi Station on Monday, April 27, 2026, at approximately 8:57 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The incident involved a long-distance train, the Argo Bromo Anggrek, traveling from Gambir to Surabaya Pasar Turi, and a Commuter Line.
The evacuation process is still ongoing. Police have also set up a perimeter to keep the area clear of residents.
