TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Raw Vision Collective, the promoter of the "YE Live in Jakarta" concert scheduled for October 24, 2026, projects that the event could attract thousands of international tourists to the capital city.
"More than 15,000 international tourists—a figure that continues to rise daily—will arrive in Jakarta from various countries," said Karen Tjahja, Head of Marketing and Communications at Raw Vision Collective, during a press conference on Tuesday, as quoted by ANTARA.
Promoters project that tourists from Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK, Germany, Vietnam, and New Zealand will travel to Jakarta to attend the concert of Ye, the American singer formerly known as Kanye West.
According to the promoter, audience enthusiasm for the show was evident on the first day of ticket sales, when 52.8 percent of the tickets were sold to fans from 73 countries. The YE concert is also projected to generate economic benefits for businesses in the culinary, accommodation, and transportation sectors, as well as other businesses in Jakarta.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo is proud that Jakarta was chosen as the venue for the YE concert. "Jakarta has the honor of hosting this YE concert, as it is the concert for Southeast Asia and Oceania," he said.
"What was encouraging was that I was also surprised the fans came from all over the world. In fact, the majority of people who bought tickets from outside came from Australia," he added.
He said the Jakarta Provincial Government would help ensure that the YE concert in Jakarta goes smoothly and safely.
Moreover, the concert is being held on the same day as the Jakarta Running Festival, which is expected to draw 35,000 participants. "We will coordinate to ensure the arrangements are well-managed," said Pramono.
