
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Megawati Soekarnoputri, received a book from the Chinese President Xi Jinping, at the Office of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), Beijing, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. The book is titled Tata Kelola Pemerintahan Xi Jinping (Xi Jinping's Governance). Minister IDCPC Liu Jianchao handed over the book.
In an official statement on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Minister Liu said that President Xi Jinping gave him this book, which is signed by Xi Jinping himself and is about his governance. There are versions in both Mandarin and English.
Liu also conveyed Xi Jinping's message to the Indonesian Fifth President. Xi Jinping, according to Liu, regards Megawati as an old friend of China. Megawati is said to have made a significant contribution to China-Indonesia relations.
Through Liu, Xi Jinping stated that Megawati has been making significant contributions to the development of China-Indonesia relations for a long time.
Xi Jinping mentioned that the current relationship between China and Indonesia is at a high level of development. Xi Jinping, said Liu, also hopes for cooperation between the PDIP and the Communist Party of China to promote development.
Liu continued Xi Jinping's statement, friendly cooperation between the CPC and PDIP can promote mutually beneficial development for China and Indonesia in regional and global contexts.
Megawati is currently on a visit to China. She arrived in China on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Megawati is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Global Civilization Dialogue Forum in China. Megawati is slated to be the first speaker.
In addition to Megawati, the fourth President of Namibia, Nangolo Mbumba, will also speak, as will former Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama, former Prime Minister of Belgium Yves Leterme, former Prime Minister of Nepal Jhala Nath Khanal, and former Prime Minister of Egypt Essam Sharaf.
