Trump Posts AI-Generated Video Depicting Obama's Arrest

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - U.S. President Donald Trump has once again courted controversy. He uploaded a fake video generated by AI depicting the arrest of former President Barack Obama.

As reported by NDTV, in the video, Obama is shown as if being apprehended by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the Oval Office. The video uploaded on Truth Social opens with Obama saying, "especially the President is above the law. No one is above the law."

Subsequently, the video shows multiple U.S. politicians stating "No one is above the law." The clip then transitions to an AI-generated video depicting Obama being handcuffed by two FBI agents in the same office where he once presided as President. Trump is seen sitting and smiling during the "arrest."

The fake video concludes with Obama standing inside a jail cell wearing an orange detainee jumpsuit.

Trump has not issued a statement confirming the video as fictitious. Critics have condemned the action as highly irresponsible.

The video upload comes weeks after Trump accused Obama of rigging the election. Last week, the U.S. National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, revealed that she has compelling evidence of the alleged engineered Trump-Russia collusion theory following the 2016 election. This was to prevent Trump's reelection. She called for the prosecution of the previous Obama administration.

"Americans will finally learn the truth about how in 2016, intelligence was politicised and weaponised by the most powerful people in the Obama administration to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Donald Trump, subverting the will of the American people and undermining our democratic republic," she wrote in X.

However, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) released a 114-page document detailing evidence that, before the November 2016 election, the Intelligence Community consistently assessed that Russia may not have attempted to influence the election through cyber means. It also stated that on December 8, 2016, the President's daily intelligence brief draft stated that Russia did not affect the recent U.S. election results through malicious cyber activity against U.S. election infrastructure.
