TEMPO.COJakarta - The Ministry of Tourism introduced the Meticulous Artificial Intelligence of Indonesia (MaiA) platform to Indonesian travelers on Friday, November 27, 2025. This platform is designed to help travelers plan their holidays more easily and efficiently.

The Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, stated that the launch of MaiA is a tangible commitment from the government to provide an intelligent, inclusive, and sustainable tourism ecosystem.

"This is our step to present tourism that is not only beautiful but also intelligent and inclusive for everyone," she affirmed.

The platform, accessible through indonesia.travel, is touted to understand travelers' needs, help find travel inspiration, instantly arrange routes, and accompany users as they explore Indonesia with greater confidence and comfort.

Features of MaiA

The features within this platform are designed to function as intelligent curators and digital travel companions. These features include personalized destination recommendations, automatic itinerary planning, interactive maps, and destination information summaries in various languages.

MaiA's launch is part of the implementation of the Ministry of Tourism's priority program, Tourism 5.0. It also serves as a direct response to changing global traveler behavior, which increasingly demands personalized, efficient, and easily accessible travel experiences.

Its presence is expected to strengthen Indonesia's global competitiveness and support the government's efforts to provide sustainable and user-friendly tourism.

Widiyanti also hopes that MaiA will provide added value for travelers and reinforce Indonesia's position as an innovative and relevant destination amid global tourism competition.

Customized to Tourists' Interests

Pradhana H.S., the AI Developer Team Lead at the Ministry of Tourism, emphasized MaiA's ability to personalize destination goals according to tourists' interests. "Whatever questions we have about Indonesian tourism, whatever the tourist's query, will be answered by MaiA," Pradhana explained.

MaiA can be accessed for free by site visitors and is available in multiple languages, including Indonesian, English, French, and Arabic. Travelers can submit queries through the available chat column.
