Several Universities in Bandung Join Student Protests Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Students from various universities and organizations in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, staged coordinated protests against the government of President Prabowo Subianto on June 15, 2026. Demonstrators gathered at two locations: the West Java Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) and the Bank Indonesia office in West Java.

Several action flyers were uploaded by Bandung Bergerak media on Monday morning, June 15, 2026. In the upload, the executive body of students from several campuses conveyed a call to action at the West Java Regional House of Representatives at 1:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time). One of them is from the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Widyatama University carrying the theme 'Sick Indonesia' with a gathering point at Widyatama Airport.

Other action flyers were also made by the Student Executive Board of Pasundan University. The Pasundan University Student Executive Board called for action 'Bankrupt Indonesia' in front of the Bank Indonesia office in West Java at 11:00 AM WIB. The National Student Executive Board Alliance also called for action at the Regional House of Representatives with a gathering point at the Islamic University of Bandung (Unisba) campus at 1:00 PM WIB.

The Digitech University Student Executive Board also called for action with the theme 'Indonesia's Sins.' Another participating campus is the Student Executive Council (Dema) of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. They will also demonstrate at the West Java Regional House of Representatives.

In addition, the Holy Student Movement Alliance and the National Indonesian Student Movement (GMNI) in Bandung City will also storm the West Java Regional House of Representatives this afternoon.

The action in Bandung adds to the list of the Reformasi 2 demonstrations held today in various cities. In Jakarta, the Bung Karno University Student Executive Board and the Paramadina University Student Senate will also hold actions at the Presidential Palace today.

In Central Java, the Islamic Students Association (HMI) branch in Semarang also held actions today. As quoted from its Instagram, HMI Semarang brought a call for Reformasi 2. They invited all HMI cadres to join the demonstration to overthrow Prabowo-Gibran at 10:00 AM WIB. The action will be held at all central points in the city of Semarang with a gathering point at the Secretariat of the HMI branch in Semarang.

Campuses outside Java Island will also hold actions today. One of them is the Student Executive Board of the University of North Sumatra. The University of North Sumatra Student Executive Board will bring six demand issues in this action, namely energy and fuel price increases; national economy; security regulations (Police Bill); evaluation of the MBG program; education budget; and lastly, environmental and agrarian issues.

The action will be held at 12:00 PM WIB with a gathering point at the Student Government Secretariat of the University of North Sumatra. The action will take place at the West Sumatra Regional House of Representatives.

Other campuses in Sumatra that will hold actions today include the Student Executive Board (Dema) of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, South Sumatra. Through its Instagram account, Dema UIN Raden Fatah referred to this action as a State of Emergency Indonesia action. The gathering point for the action is the basketball court of UIN Raden Fatah at 8:00 AM WIB with the demonstration point at the South Sumatra Regional House of Representatives.
