TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 marks a new phase in the history of world football. The international governing body of football association, FIFA, has introduced a new format, bringing together the top 32 clubs from around the world to compete for the inaugural title with this system. The 21st edition of the tournament will be held in the United States from Saturday, June 14 to July 13, 2025.
"The list of participants at the inaugural 32-team FIFA Club World Cup is a true reflection of a tournament that will be the most competitive and inclusive of global football, bringing together the best talents from every continent to decide the true FIFA world club champion," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino in an official statement quoted from the FIFA website on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
A total of 32 teams will be divided into eight groups, each containing four clubs. Matches will take place at 12 stadiums spread across 11 cities in the United States.
Interestingly, 26 players who have previously won the World Cup with their national teams will appear for their respective clubs in this tournament.
The tournament will run for one month, featuring a total of 63 matches held at 12 stadiums in 11 host cities in the United States, including Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
Nine out of the eleven host cities will provide the venues for group stage matches, potentially showcasing FIFA World Cup champions, thus giving football fans in various regions of the United States the opportunity to witness the action of the world's best players live.
