KPK Unveils Existence of Ex-Papua Governor Lukas Enembe's Private Jet

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Setyo Budiyanto said they have discovered the existence of a private jet owned by Lukas Enembe, the former Governor of Papua.

But the KPK chief stopped short of disclosing the location of said aircraft. "It's somewhere," Setyo said briefly when met at the C1 building of the KPK in South Jakarta on Friday, June 13, 2025.

Setyo mentioned that the anti-graft agency is currently verifying the information regarding the presence of Lukas Enembe's private jet. "But for now, its status is still confidential," he said.

KPK will provide more detailed information once the investigation is concluded. This will include details such as the model of the private aircraft, its whereabouts, the status of the suspects, and the substance of the case.

The private jet was reportedly purchased using funds allotted for Papua's government officials' operational and service improvement programs. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that this suspicion arose from the investigation into corruption cases involving Lukas Enembe.

"Investigators suspect that funds from the corruption acts were used, including for the purchase of the private jet, which is currently located overseas," said Budi in his written statement on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Based on the KPK's calculations, this case has resulted in state losses of Rp1.2 trillion. KPK has also probed a foreign exchange service provider named Willie Taruna to trace the flow of funds from the misuse of the operational budget.

"The investigators are tracing the flow of funds from the said corruption for the purpose of asset recovery," said Budi Prasetyo on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

KPK also mentioned that this case involves the former assistant for Papua's regional expenditure treasurer, Dius Enumbi, who has been designated a suspect. Budi stated that Dius Enumbi played a role in inflating the operational funds.
