Iran Threatens to Target US Tech Firms in Middle East If War Escalates

2 hours ago 3

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to target US tech companies operating in the Middle East, aiming at least 18 firms inlcuding Apple, Google, Meta, and NVIDIA.

The IRGC has urged employees of these companies to leave their workplaces immediately for their safety. Nearby residents are also advised to evacuate.

In addition, several other companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Tesla, HP, Intel, Palantir, Boeing, Dell, Cisco, and IBM are also on the list of targets mentioned by the IRGC. The Guard also warned that they would begin attacks on Wednesday night if more Iranian leaders are killed.

"From now on, the main institutions effective in terrorist operations will be our legitimate targets," the IRGC said in a statement cited from an Engadget report, April 1, 2026.

Earlier, Iran had vowed to attack companies and banks linked to the United States and Israel. However, this latest warning is different because it comes with a clear deadline.

Earlier this month, Iranian drone attacks were reported to have hit Amazon data centers in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, causing disruptions to Amazon Web Services in the region.

On the other hand, the United States is said to have used AI technology owned by Anthropic in the early airstrikes against Iran in late February. Meanwhile, Israel is also reported to have utilized a new AI platform to track the movements of Iranian officials.
