TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian men's volleyball national team has moved up one position to rank 49th in the world according to the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) after winning the second leg of the SEA V League 2025.
According to FIVB's data, Indonesia currently has a total of 78.41 points, placing it just above Venezuela, which is in the 50th position with 75.52 points out of 88 countries.
Indonesia also holds the highest FIVB ranking among other ASEAN countries. Thailand is the closest competitor, ranking 58th with 63.92 points.
After Thailand comes Vietnam (63.86 points), the Philippines (29.79 points, ranked 78th), and Cambodia (4.90 points, ranked 86th).
The Indonesian men's volleyball team emerged victorious in the second leg of the SEA V League, which took place in Jakarta from July 16 to 20, 2025.
In addition to winning the championship, Indonesia remained undefeated throughout the tournament, which was also attended by Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Cambodia.
Meanwhile, in the first leg held in the Philippines from July 9 to 13, 2025, Indonesia finished as the runner-up with three victories out of four matches. The only loss came against Thailand, the eventual champions.
The positive results in the first and second legs of the 2025 SEA V League have propelled Indonesia into the 2026 AVC Men's Asian Championship.
This is due to Indonesia's position at the top of the final combined rankings of the first and second legs of the 2025 SEA V League.
With seven victories out of eight matches, Indonesia garnered 18 points, surpassing second-placed Thailand with 16 points (five wins, three losses).
Thailand will also accompany Indonesia to the 2025 AVC Men's Asian Championship as the second-place finisher in the SEA V League.
